5. Data Protection

JayJob Ltd (Co. No. 17402492) is the data controller for personal data processed through this service. We are registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO). For details on how we handle your data, please see our Privacy Policy.

Where you connect your own WhatsApp Business number, Gmail, Outlook, or bank account to JayJob, you act as the data controller for the personal data of your own customers or contacts processed through those connections, for example a customer's phone number or the content of a message you send them. JayJob Ltd and the relevant third-party provider (such as Meta/WhatsApp, Google, Microsoft, or TrueLayer) act as data processors on your behalf in that context. You are responsible for having a lawful basis to process your customers' data this way, and for complying with any rules that provider sets for its own platform, for example WhatsApp requires businesses to have a customer's genuine opt-in before messaging them.

6. AI-generated content

Important: Quotes, invoices, and messages generated by JayJob's AI are drafts only. You must review all AI-generated content before sending it to customers. JayJob Ltd is not liable for errors, omissions, or misrepresentations in AI-generated documents.

When you use AI features, relevant job details (or a receipt image, if scanning a receipt) are sent to Groq's API for processing. By using these features you confirm you have read and accept Groq's usage policies. You are responsible for ensuring AI-generated financial documents comply with HMRC requirements and any applicable consumer protection laws.

AI-generated quotes and invoices are not legal or financial advice. If you have questions about tax compliance, consult a qualified accountant.

7. Your data

You own all data you enter into JayJob (job records, customer details, financial data). We do not claim any intellectual property rights over your data.

You grant JayJob Ltd a limited, non-exclusive licence to process your data for the sole purpose of providing and improving the service, as described in our Privacy Policy.

You are responsible for ensuring you have a lawful basis (under UK GDPR) for entering your customers' personal data into JayJob. In practice, entering a customer's name, phone number and address in the context of a genuine trade job is covered by legitimate interests or contract performance.

8. Service availability

We aim to provide a reliable service but do not guarantee 100% uptime. JayJob is a web application and may be unavailable during maintenance, infrastructure issues, or circumstances outside our control.

JayJob works offline using your browser's local storage. Cloud sync requires an internet connection. We are not liable for data loss caused by browser storage being cleared, device failure, or loss of access to your Supabase account.

9. Pricing and payment

JayJob is offered on a subscription basis, processed securely by Stripe:

Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, you have the right to cancel within 14 days of your first paid subscription charge and receive a full refund. You can do this yourself at any time using the "Cancel subscription" option in Settings. If you're within the 14-day window, the refund is issued automatically. Outside that window, cancelling stops future billing but does not refund charges already made. You can also contact us at contact@jayjob.co.uk if you'd prefer we action a cancellation on your behalf.

We will give at least 30 days' notice of any price changes. Continuing to use JayJob after the notice period constitutes acceptance of the new pricing.

Paid plans, where offered, are subject to additional terms presented at the point of purchase. Consumer customers (if applicable) have a statutory 14-day cooling-off period for digital services under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, unless the service has been fully performed with your prior express consent to waive the right of withdrawal.

10. Third-party integrations

JayJob offers optional integrations with third-party services, including FreeAgent (accounting), Gmail and Outlook (automatic enquiry detection), WhatsApp (messaging via your own number), Twilio (SMS), and Open Banking via TrueLayer (transaction import). These are opt-in: nothing is shared until you actively choose to connect a service in Settings.

If you connect a third-party service, you are responsible for ensuring you have a valid account with that provider and that your use of it complies with that provider's own terms of service. JayJob Ltd is not responsible for how connected third-party services store, process, or use your data once it has been sent to them. You can disconnect an integration at any time in Settings, which stops any further data being shared.

11. Intellectual property

JayJob, its logo, design, and underlying code are owned by JayJob Ltd and protected by copyright. You may not copy, reproduce, or redistribute any part of the application without our written permission.

AI-generated text (quotes, invoices, messages) produced using your inputs is yours to use for your business purposes. We make no claim to ownership of AI outputs generated on your behalf.

12. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by UK law:

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any liability that cannot be excluded by law.

13. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify JayJob Ltd against any claims, damages, or costs arising from your use of the service in violation of these Terms, or from your breach of any obligation to your customers.

14. Termination

You may close your account at any time via Settings → Delete my account. Your data will be deleted within 30 days.

We may suspend or terminate your account immediately if you materially breach these Terms, are subject to insolvency proceedings, or if we reasonably believe continued access would cause harm to other users or to us.

On termination, your right to use the service ceases. We will provide you with a data export on request for 30 days after termination.

15. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

If you are a consumer resident in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings in your local courts.

16. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via the app or by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the service after that date constitutes acceptance. If you do not accept the new Terms, you may close your account.
